Nursery Glider

Happy Hump Day! I hope you are having a fantastic week - the weather here has been great the past few days (a nice feeling after a gloomy week, last week).

We have finally decided on, and ordered a glider for the nursery...I am so excited for its arrival! I will have to be patient (10-12 weeks - bummer) until it is delivered, since we custom-ordered fabric.

I had been searching high and low (online) for the ultimate glider, and thought I had it narrowed down to the first two photos below - both from Pottery Barn Kids. My mom and I made a trip to their store, and when I sat in the chairs, I felt completely disappointed and SO thankful I did not order them online.

The upholstered rocker seemed to be too tall for me, not giving my lower back enough support, and there was not much no cushion to it. The slipcover glider felt a little more comfortable, but still not extremely supportive, and I was not excited. Needless to say, we left the store empty-handed.

We headed to Babies "R" Us to pick out a car seat, and decided to take a stroll through their rocker/glider section. Not expecting to find much of anything but the standard glider, I was excited to come across this baby (below). As soon as I sat down, I was in marshmallow heaven. It was so comfortable, cushy, and was the perfect height for my back...not to mention nearly $500 less than the chairs from Pottery Barn Kids! I wasn't crazy about the fabric, but luckily they had tons of options (just be prepared to wait 10-12 weeks). I am in love with the fabric we ended up going with - the pattern, versatility, and feel are great...can't wait to see it covering the entire chair! I would highly recommend this chair to any mamas-to-be, or even anyone looking for a nice glider. The custom fabric choices are not available online, so you'd have to make a trip to the store (probably a good idea to test it out anyway).

I decided to hold-off on the matching ottoman, opting for a white Moroccan pouf, instead.
