...just a few things we could all use for spring, right? ;) I have been in search of the perfect distressed boyfriend jeans...and these are by far my favorite! Worth the splurge?

Happy Weekend
Happy Friday! We don't have a ton of weekend plans, but excited to attend a first birthday party for a special little lady. This is the look I'd love to be sporting all weekend...
Do you have any fabulous weekend plans?

(two) Clean Eating Breakfasts
Hello ladies! I'm bringing you two 'clean' breakfasts today - both recipes are super delish, healthy, and (best of all) quick. I can whip up either of these in less than 10 minutes, which is way better than grabbing a granola bar (most of which are actually NOT healthy). I am a fan of both savory and sweet breakfasts, so I decided to post one of each.
Mexican Egg & Rice Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup brown rice
- 2 Tbs salsa
- 5 egg whites (or 1/2 cup if you use prepackaged egg whites)
- pinch of salt
- pepper to taste
- avocado
Directions:
- prepare brown rice
- while rice is cooking, combine egg whites and salsa
- pour the mixture of egg/salsa into pan, mixing until cooked to liking
- serve eggs over rice, and top with avocado, then sprinkle with salt and pepper
Protein Pancakes
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop whey protein powder (I use vanilla, purchased from Whole Foods)
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 banana
- 1/4 cup oats (old fashioned kind)
- 1 tablespoon milk (of any kind)
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- strawberries
- blue agave
Directions:
- combine all ingredients in blender, and blend until smooth (do not over-blend)
- let mixture set for a few minutes
- spray pan with cooking oil (I use spray coconut oil)
- pour mix into pan and cook for 2 minutes on each side (medium -high heat)
- flip cake when you see bubbles throughout entire cake (but be sure not to let it burn) ;)
- top with strawberries and blue agave
Another current favorite is overnight oats - SO good. Do you have any 'clean' recipes? Please share!

Bloglovin'
As you may have heard, Google Reader is SHUTTING down - how depressing. I know a lot of people are already leaving GR and GFC (although they say GFC isn't going to be affected yet), and I'm going to go ahead and join Bloglovin' - even though I have no idea how to use it yet. I'm adding a button to my blog, so please follow me on Bloglovin' if you don't already!

Copper Pendants
I am so smitten with shiny, copper lighting; I can't get enough of the amazing look of these fixtures. It adds an entirely new element to any room - they don't look too formal or too casual for any space (perfection). Take a look at some of my favorites.

I think it's obvious my favorite is the Tom Dixon copper pendant - you can purchase it here. For a similar look, but a fraction of the price, look here.
What do you think of this look?

Beach Vacation
We're heading to Miami next month, and in preparation, I've found a few things I wouldn't mind toting along. I've been really attracted to bright colors lately - in clothing, decor, and accessories. I'm not a huge fan of neon, but I do like it in small doses (these sandals for example).
What would you pack for a beach vacay?

Fiddle Leaf Fig (the fabric)
It seems that everyone and their mother has a fiddle leaf fig tree in their home - I mean their gorgeous, but some of us don't exactly have a green thumb (over here! I'm still on the lookout for a good faux). If you love the look, but don't want can't handle a plant, I've got a great solution for you - fiddle leaf fig fabric...try saying that five times.

These photos feature Peter Dunham's gorgeous fabric found here, but it will cost you a pretty penny (very pretty). I found a more affordable option through Spoonflower found here, not bad huh?
Happy Tuesdays, lovas!

Weekend in Photos
You may have seen this on my IG - but I will show you again...it felt great to start the weekend with my favorite kale aid. After having this, I came to the conclusion I would like to invest in a juicer. I loooove fresh pressed juice, but it can really add up if you're drinking it a few times/week (the one I usually order is around $8). I found a juicer on sale at Macy's over the weekend, and placing my order today. I believe it was Krups, and it had rave reviews online...more to come soon.
I found the cutest little (overpriced) hat for Sophia at a local boutique. My husband thought it was ridiculous, but I just could not resist. She will probably never wear it, but honestly...I bought it because I was wishing it would fit me. Unfortunately, it's 0-6 months, and I have a large noggin.
I went to my first (ever) ballet barre class on Saturday morning, and I'm having trouble walking today ;). It was great.
Spotted this bag, fell in love, then cried when I saw the price tag. I couldn't justify spending $275 on a bag that isn't at least decent quality. It felt so lightweight, and the leather just wasn't right...total bummer. Isn't she gorg?
I love beets, and this beet salad did not disappoint!
Found a new store I'm completely obsessed with. They had the most beautiful vintage kantha quilts, rugs, and outdoor furniture. TO die for.
My hubby really likes fights to be the one to push Sophia in the stroller - I love it.
A gorgeous morning at church. To be totally honest, I used to think going to church was a pain and extremely boring, but now I really look forward to going each week. Finding the right church is key - ours is modern, and the pastors are funny, real people - the message is always very relatable.
gem of a staircase
Had the most ah-maz-ing cheat meal ever - truffle cheeseburger, truffle fries, sweet potato fries, and ginger beer. It was so delicious, and definitely worth cheating for.
How was your weekend?

up in the gym just working on my fitness
Time to get real, ladies...after having my sweet Sophia, I really fell off the fitness course I was used to. Breastfeeding really helped me lose all of the weight within a matter of weeks, and I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight in no time. However, there was a LOT of toning to do, and I had a plan....had being the keyword. It's amazing how you find yourself with NO time to do things for yourself (ok, maybe a bit dramatic, but a LOT less time than pre-babe), which includes working out.
Last month, I decided it was time to get with the program, as summer is coming up, and we are heading to Miami in April (woah, next month!). I decided my at-home workout plan was simply not working, got a gym membership, and began to schedule 4 days/week to go to the gym (so much more planning involved, yet again). Finally, I am getting into a routine (as of this week), and am getting back to it. Trying to schedule workouts around my husband's job, our nanny's schedule, and my own is a bit of a balancing act, but I'm finally getting it together.
I have given up Coca Cola for lent (just happened to be the right time), which has been surprisingly EASY - I'm so shocked. I owe it all to the glorious bev we call coconut water. Whenever I'm craving a soda, I reach for my coconut water (but still limit to 1 a day), and it has really been helping. My favorite brand is 'Real Coconut Water,' I think it has the best/most natural taste. I buy it at Whole Foods, but recently saw it on Amazon as well.
In addition to my gym schedule, I decided to kick it up a notch for the next 30 days, and complete Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I know a lot of people do this program alone and see a lot of results, but 20 minutes/day doesn't seem like enough for me (I have a long way to go to get to my goal). Plus, the workouts aren't too difficult (yet - I'm only on day 2), so I don't feel too tired to hit the gym later in the day. If anyone is interested in doing this with me, I found the video on YouTube! See it here.
I am passionate about fitness and nutrition, it's just getting the schedule consistent that has been causing the problem as of late. I'm hoping I've got it down now. Is anyone else ready to get in shape for summer? I hope I'm not the only one who needs a little kick! ;)

Just Add Wood + A Home Update ( fail)
all images above via Lonny
Speaking of adding wood to your home, my dining chairs finally came, and I love them...
...notice anything? Oh, hey! There's only TWO chairs in this photo. That's because I only received two chairs - wth. Apparently my chairs were damaged during shipping (thanks UPS), and all items were discarded, but I find this story a little fishy. You see, the first two chairs were delivered by a nice man who said, "I'm not sure why...but the other two chairs were taken by my co-worker on his truck, so he will be delivering those later today," hmmm OK, fine. I wait, and wait, and wait - they don't come. I wait, and wait, and wait the next day - and they still haven't arrived. I check the shipping status for the thousandth time, to see "ITEM DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING. ALL ITEMS DISCARDED." OH joy. Am I the only one who thinks this story is fishy? Anyway - at least I have two dining chairs and one high chair at this point, that's all we 'need.' ;)
Happy Monday to you!
