Quinoa & Pesto Wrap

One Chicago lunch spot that I dearly miss is the Protein Bar. They specialize in juices, delicious 'bar-ritos,' bowls, and yummy salads for busy people on the go (everyone living downtown Chicago).

I decided to try my own (veggie) version of the Ivy, and it was so delicious! I will be making this on a regular basis, and for those of you meat lovers - it would be great with chicken as well! (That is not my wrap below...I forgot to take a photo of the final product...and before I knew it, it was gone!)

Ingredients:
Quinoa
Spinach
Pesto
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Sundried Tomato Tortilla

Happy Thursday!

Upholstered Headboard :: To Buy or DIY?

I love a great upholstered headboard - it can glam up or tone down a room, depending on the style, fabric, and overall design. I do not currently have an upholstered headboard, but am in the market for one. I have rounded up a number of beautiful headboards I would love to buy for my bedroom, but also discovered a handful of amazing DIY headboards. The question becomes: to buy or DIY?

Obviously, it would be easier to buy. We have a LOT going on in the upcoming months, and 90% of me says, "Are you joking? You have to buy. It will be ordered, delivered, and set up with the push of a button." However, the other 10% says, "You have to DIY! This would be such a fun, (semi)simple project - not to mention a savings of $500 or more." As you can see, I am in quite the predicament!

I would love your thoughts...should I buy or DIY?

Currently Loving: Boho Chic

'Boho Chic' is one of my all-time favorite, go to looks. Beautiful prints, flowing fabrics, and accessories for days...what more could you want in an outfit? I have noticed my 'Style Lust' board being filled with beautiful boho images lately, so I thought it was only appropriate to dedicate a post to this effortlessly cool style.

fab 'boho chic' mama!

My Weekend

Welcome to Monday (yet again, you've come so soon)! I had a great weekend, how about you? I was able to spend some time (Saturday & Sunday) with my sister-in-law who was in town for work - it was a fab time. We spent most of our weekend eating our way around Orange County, which is never a bad thing (or is it?). (Warning: this post has much to do with food, and little to do with anything else)

kicking off the weekend with neon nails

Friday night was 'date night,' with my hubs...and we felt like keeping it pretty low-key. I could not come up with any suggestions (feeling so indecisive these days - pregnancy?), so he decided on 6ix Park Grill for convenience. I have to admit, my first thought was 'a hotel restaurant?' - but I decided to keep quiet since I didn't have any ideas to bring to the table. I was pleasantly very surprised with a great patio table, and delicious food - I would definitely go back.

Lately, I can't get enough fried calamari...I have it everywhere we go!

Another current craving? Coconut popsicles...yum.

Saturday night was dinner at one of my favorite sushi spots in Newport Beach.

...they have the BEST garlic edamame

Breakfast at Panini Cafe - one of my go-to spots!

My food was so good, I forgot to take a picture...oops - I had glass noodles with peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and caramelized onion.

In other weekend news...we went to see Magic Mike, and I was not impressed. The movie seemed to drag on and on...anyone else agree? We spent Sunday afternoon strolling along CDM beach and scouting out dream homes. It was a beautiful day, but I couldn't believe how many people were swimming - the water was SO cold!

Did you do anything fun this weekend? Happy Monday to you!
